There are so many great books coming out in 2017. Whenever I look at Goodreads, I get so excited! I can not wait to read so many of these, and I want them all to come out right now. I figured that as I wait, I would make a list of books I’m so excited for!
One Dark Throne
Release Date: September 19th, 2017
Synopsis: The battle for the Crown has begun, but which of the three sisters will prevail?
With the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them and the Ascension Year underway, all bets are off. Katharine, once the weak and feeble sister, is stronger than ever before. Arsinoe, after discovering the truth about her powers, must figure out how to make her secret talent work in her favor without anyone finding out. And Mirabella, once thought to be the strongest sister of all and the certain Queen Crowned, faces attacks like never before—ones that put those around her in danger she can’t seem to prevent.
In this enthralling sequel to Kendare Blake’s New York Times bestselling Three Dark Crowns, Fennbirn’s deadliest queens must face the one thing standing in their way of the crown: each other.
Why I’m Excited: I read Three Dark Crowns and LOVED IT. It is probably one of my top reads of the year so far. The ending was so suspenseful and perfect, and I need to know what happens next! If One Dark Throne is even half as good as Three Dark Crowns, I will be extremely satisfied with this series!
Release Date: August 1st, 2017
Synopsis: A new spin on the classic smart-girl-and-bad-boy setup, this witty contemporary romance shows how easily a friendship – even one built on an elaborate lie – can become so much more.
Jenny meets Chance for the very first time when she is assigned as his partner in their Junior Oral Communications class. But after they rescue a doomed assignment with one clever lie, the whole school is suddenly convinced that Little-Miss-Really-Likes-Having-A’s and the most scandalous heartbreaker in school have been best friends forever. It’s amazing how quickly a lie can grow―especially when you really, really want it to be the truth.
With Jenny, Chance can live the normal life he’s always kind of wanted. And with Chance, Jenny can have the exciting teen experiences that TV shows and movies have always promised. Through it all, they hold on to the fact that they are “just friends.” But that might be the biggest lie of all.
Why I’m Excited: This synopsis is just so compelling! It looks like such an interesting book that I just can’t wait to read! I have also read some reviews that said this book is a great contemporary with a little bit of substance, which is just the type of book I like!
The Epic Crush of Genie Lo
Release Date: August 8th, 2017
Synopsis: The struggle to get into a top-tier college consumes sixteen-year-old Genie Lo’s every waking thought. But when her sleepy Bay Area town comes under siege from hell-spawn straight out of Chinese folklore, her priorities are suddenly and forcefully rearranged.
Her only guide to the demonic chaos breaking out around her is Quentin Sun, a beguiling, maddening new transfer student from overseas. Quentin assures Genie she is strong enough to fight these monsters, for she unknowingly harbors an inner power that can level the very gates of Heaven.
Genie will have to dig deep within herself to summon the otherworldly strength that Quentin keeps talking about. But as she does, she finds the secret of her true nature is entwined with his, in a way she could never have imagined…
Why I’m Excited: The synopsis of this book doesn’t really seem like something I would enjoy. I don’t think I would be excited for this book at all, if not for the hype and raving reviews. I have seen so much of this book around the blogosphere, and it is all positive attention! Many reviewers I trust put this book at the top of their 2017 lists, so I can’t wait to get my hands on this one!
Turtles All The Way Down
Release Date: October 10th, 2017
Synopsis: It all begins with a fugitive billionaire and the promise of a cash reward.
Turtles All the Way Down is about lifelong friendship, the intimacy of an unexpected reunion, Star Wars fan fiction, and tuatara. But at its heart is Aza Holmes, a young woman navigating daily existence within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.
In his long-awaited return, John Green shares Aza’s story with shattering, unflinching clarity.
Why I’m Excited: It’s a new John Green book! Who wouldn’t be excited? Also, the tiny bit of synopsis we have seems extremely interesting and like something I would love to read!
So, there we go! Four 2017 releases I can’t wait to get my hands on! What books are you most looking forward to?
