Like most bibliophiles, I have a love-hate relationships with book to movie adaptations. Sometimes they just add to the greatness of the book, but sometimes they butcher it! I think that there are a few books that would make amazing movies- if done right. I will just make this list, and hope that they would be done in a great way!
Caraval has the most amazing setting. The story is also exceptional. This is the perfect recipe for a great movie! I can just imagine this book being made into a beautiful movie that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.
With Malice was a fantastic YA thriller novel. I think it could become a movie that is just as great! The suspense would translate so well to screen, and I think the story could be told in a really interesting way through flashbacks and other movie effects.
Attachments was a sweet, funny, interesting contemporary novel. I can imagine it becoming an amazing and unique romance movie! The characters are all amazing, and there is a good mix of sad and happy moments. This would translate perfectly onto a movie screen!
The Loose Ends List
The Loose Ends List is one of my favorite contemporaries of the year. This becoming a movie would be incredible! The setting, a luxury cruise ship, would be amazing on screen, and the vibrant characters would make a perfect movie cast. I know this would make an amazing teen movie that makes everyone cry at the end!
How is this not already a thing? The plot of The Selection is so creative, and would pan out perfectly for a movie. I also believe that the world-building of this story is better suited to the screen (it was one of the weaker aspects of the book). The characters are also so distinct and loveable, so this movie would be a sure hit!
Those are 5 books I think should be adapted into movies! What do you think? What is your favorite book to movie adaptations?
